PETA last week called upon AMUL to stop the production of cow milk in its dairy plants and shift to adopting VEGAN milk. The concern it showed was the so called cruelty cows or buffalo have to face during milk production. But is PETA really concerned about protecting cows and buffalos? Let us see now.

It was revealed in a 2013 HUFFPOST as follows:

“Approximately 2,000 animals pass through PETA’s front door every year and very few make it out alive. The vast majority — 96 percent in 2011 — exit the facility out the back door after they have been killed, when Pet Cremation Services of Tidewater stop by on their regular visits to pick up their remains. Between these visits, the bodies are stored in the giant walk-in freezer PETA installed for this very purpose. It is a freezer that cost $9,370 and, like the company which incinerates the bodies of PETA’s victims, was paid for with the donations of animal lovers who could never have imagined that the money they donated to help animals would be used to end their lives instead. In fact, in the last 11 years, PETA has killed 29,426 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other domestic animals.

The AMUL Chairman has called it a blatant act of conspiracy against the booming Indian dairy sector. The real fact is, Amul employees nearly 3.5 million people directly and 100,000+ in an in-direct manner. It was a symbol of India’s White Revolution which made the country self-sustainable in Dairy sector. This doesn’t suit the West well, which wants to export its own items to India. When being asked what will happen to all those farmers who are employed in the dairy sector if veganism is promoted in India, PETA had no answers.

PETA has no jurisdiction nor any right to dictate what an Indian company needs to do. It’s good to spread awareness of VEGAN, but let’s leave it to people who can decide what they want rather than dictating terms to them.

India since Ancient Times have considered cow as sacred and have worshipped them. To exploit them or keep them in bad condition is just against our culture and we haven’t done that in any place.

It is time to step up now and speak. Western Imperialism is willing to come back again in different forms. We have to protect our motherland from these conspiracies. If you can’t see a big deal in it, probably the future is very dark for you. Think over it, before it’s too late.
